It's a well-known fact that candles transform any space they're lit in. A restaurant goes from casual to romantic, a house feels warmer (in both senses of the word), and a simple bathtub becomes a spa-like experience. Candles add ambiance and atmosphere as quick as you can light the wick, but for any candle collector, tiring of a particular scent or look is a problem. So how do you take the same old candles you've had lying around and transform into something new that you can be excited about? Easy!

Coffee Beans + Candles
15 Ways to Instantly (and easily) Upgrade your Candles 1
A simple hurricane vase or mason jar and an old pillar, tealight, or votive candle can transform into beauty with some coffee beans! Just fill your chosen container up with fresh coffee beans and sink a vanilla-scented candle into the middle. When you light it, the heat will activate the coffee and your home will smell like freshly-brewed vanilla coffee. Yum!

Citrus Peels + Candles
Have a bunch of citrus sitting around? Peel it all! Using the same concept as above, place the citrus peels in a larger vase or bowl, and pack them around your candle. Once again, the heat in the lit candle will warm the natural oils in the peels, activating the fragrance. It's like an easy, all-natural Scentsy!

Wine Glass + Candles
15 Ways to Instantly (and easily) Upgrade your Candles 2
Sometimes, you need a last-minute decor idea, centerpiece, or just a unique fixture to finish of the decor in the room. An easy way to fill the space with small candles involves a simple piece of stemware - a wine glass. Flip the glass over, place a few flowers or other small objects in the globe, and place a small candle on the bottom of the stem. Simple elegance!

Herbs + Candles
For an easy, seasonal fragrance, look no further than the garden. A handful of rosemary stems, bay leaves, sage leaves, lavender stems, or any other smell-good herb and a bit of twine are all you need to spruce up any candle larger than a tea light. Wrap the candle in the herbs, always facing the leaves and stems vertically, and keeping them flush at the bottom of the candle. Use the twine to hold the herbs around the candle and tie it off with a bow. When the heat from the fire reaches the herbs, their smell will release and mingle with the fragrance of the candle.

Wine Corks + Candles
15 Ways to Instantly (and easily) Upgrade your Candles 3
This is an easy and gorgeous upgrade. Using all of those old corks from wine long gone, fill a hurricane vase with enough to reach 3/4 from the top. Place a votive or pillar candle in the center. Voila! Simple and beautiful, and ready to place the centerpiece at any party or get together.
